Your account, your choice

Delete your
Evergreen account.

Use Settings in the app, or send us a request if you cannot sign in.

Keep a copy first. Account deletion is permanent. Export writing you want to keep before deleting. Removing the app from your phone does not delete your cloud account.

Optional support is one-time. Evergreen is free, with optional one-time Apple tips of US$2, US$5 or US$10. No support subscriptions are currently offered. If you already set up an Apple support subscription during earlier testing, manage or cancel it separately through Apple in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Evergreen; deleting your Evergreen account does not cancel it. See Apple's cancellation instructions.

Delete in the app.

  1. Open Settings.Sign in to the account you want to remove, then open Settings using the gear icon.
  2. Choose “Delete my account.”Read the confirmation and enter your password in the app to confirm ownership. Never email your password.
  3. Complete the confirmation.Wait for the account removal to finish. If the app reports that removal or device cleanup needs another try, use its retry action. A pending cleanup message means the process still needs attention.

Request by email.

Email with the subject Delete my Evergreen account.

Send from your account's email address if possible. Include the email address used for Evergreen and say that you want the account and its associated data deleted. That is all you need to include to start.

Do not send a password, payment information, identity document or journal content. We may ask you to confirm that the account belongs to you. A person handles these requests; sending an email does not instantly delete the account. If your email app does not open, copy the address above.

What is removed.

Completed account deletion removes the account's live cloud journal, captured ideas, favorites and reading state, its community submission records and its Firebase sign-in account.

The app also removes that account's local writing, sync copy and pending submission on the device completing the deletion. An interrupted cleanup can need a retry. Other offline devices can retain a previous cache until they reconnect and finish cleanup or their app data is removed.

What can remain.

  • A minimal account-status record, with an account identifier and deletion status but no journal text or email address, remains to stop old sessions from reopening the account. It currently has no automatic expiry.
  • Separate older device-only writing and global app preferences are not removed by account deletion.
  • Apple purchase records and local recovery information for an unresolved support attempt are separate from your Evergreen account. Account deletion does not delete Apple's records or cancel a subscription set up during earlier testing. All app features remain free whether you support Evergreen or not. See the support terms.
  • Files you exported, messages you shared and copies held by others cannot be removed by Evergreen's account deletion.
  • Copies of chosen submissions in local nightly review packets and notes may need separate operator cleanup. Mention review copies when requesting removal; private journals are not included in that review workflow. OpenAI may retain processing information under its applicable service terms and privacy practices.
  • A separately curated public idea may need an additional removal request. Please mention that item in your email. Independently sourced quotes and other people's copies are separate from your account.
  • Google/Firebase may retain provider logs or backup information under its own retention practices. See the service-provider details.
